Tap at Friends of Ham, Leeds. Very nearly black. Thin, off white head. Treacle. Caramel. Thick vanilla. Burnt rubber. Big, chewy palate. Taste is thick, sweet treacle. Bitterness comes at the end and stays an age. Mesters beer.

Cask at Indmanbeercon 2013. It pours near black with a medium light tan head. The nose is mild smoke, roasted malt, salty, toast, meatiness, treacle and cocoa. The taste is rich roast, toast, salted caramel, wood, treacle, smoky wood, charcoal and a good deal of bitterness with a dry finish. Medium-full body and fine carbonation. Hides alcohol well. Decent enough, but actually tastes a bit too salty.
