Can from a shop in Kirkwall. It pours black with a bubbly light tan head. The aroma is rich roasted, coffee beans, pleasing hit of milky coffee, creaminess, cacao nibs, chocolate bourbons, toasty vibes, malt loaf and dull smoke. The taste is dry, toasty, bitter - sweet, earthy roast, coffee grounds, cacao nibs, milk chocolate, dull smoke, milk creamer, splash of cola, malt loaf and nuttiness with a dry, toasty finish. Average body and fine, prickly carbonation. Decent stuff.

Can from Beer52. Creamy vanilla pudding aroma with a touch of coffee. Darkest brown. Murky. The bubbly beige head soon recedes to the rim. Initial hints of sourness with a touch of sweetness - creamy coffee. The coffee element then really amps up for a bitter finale. Although the sweetness does reappear in the finish. Thick bodied. Slick-creamy. Average carbonation. Dry astringent finish. As advertised a coffee milk stout.

330ml can: BB Dec 2020. Poured into a thistle shaped glass at home on 19th Feb 2020. very dark, wispy head that faded to nothing far too quickly. Malty with both coffee and chocolate in the nose and taste, more bitter than sweet, but certainly not a burnt malty brew. Vanilla more than leather, more milky than peaty. Pity about the no show of a proper head on the beer.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A glossy cola coloured pour with a fast fading chocolate coloured head; aroma of coffee grounds; thin in the mouth with a rough coffee grounds taste; and an unpleasant acrid finish. Not good.

Thin tan head left a collar on a dark brown still body. Demerara, malt & boozy aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the palate with a creamy back. Malt, lactose, roasted, lightly smoked, nutty & brandy tastes. Nice....

Black beer, thin filmy head. Nice smell of coffee and malt. Flavour is interesting. Coffee, malt, light chocolate, a slightly toasty flavour but there's some light hop around the edges of it too. Not a big hefty flavour but a nice one with a decent balance of flavours.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell on 28th April 2015. Deep ruby-black with pale tan nonlacing ring. Rich roasty aroma with fine spices. Roast malts, spices and bitter chocolate in-mouth with the finest touch of salt. Solid roasty finish, of satisfying duration. Medium body and engaging texture.
