Cask. Black colour, small brown creamy head. Aroma is coffee, some roasted malts, a bit liquorice as well as some red berries. Flavour is liquorice, coffee, some red berries, mild floral notes as well as some slight earthy notes. Balanced, and very smooth.

On cask at the Malt n Hops. Appearance - close to opaque black with just the odd orange chink. Nice fawn head. Nose - roast, toffee and a touch of milk chocolate. Taste - toffee and hobnobs. Light chocolate. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a balanced creamy but dry finish. Overall - what I nice pint!

Cask at the Hanging bat. Pours black, nose is milk chocolate, light roast malts, taste is sweet chocolate, dry roast.

Cask at The Hanging Bat.Pours black with a thin beige head. Aromas of dark fruit, chocolate. taste is more of the same. Light sweet finish. Not bad.

(Cask at Angleterre, 20140201) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aoma had toasted malts, chocolate and sweet hops. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was mildly ashy and bitter. A decente cask stout.

Cask At Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pitch black. Coffee aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Licorice and crude oil, lots of coffee. Mid bitter finish. Mouthfilling.

Cask at the Lyric, Soho, 24/12/13. Light black with a moderate tan covering. Nose is rich roast, dark fruit, light smoke, treacle toffee. Taste comprises roast malt, dark toffee, cocoa, puff of smoke, earthy tang. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry closure. Ok stout.

Cask at the malt and hops... Brown... Thin tan head... Soft blackcurrant fruit nose... Soft roast... Quite thin... Soft chocolate roast... Soft blackberry fruits... Light roast finish... Ok but little dissapointing... 3.4 Cudos to malt n hops for a 2nd one when i said bit thin. 1st one from barrel hadnt been pulled through right. 3.9 Deep blsck... Creamy tan head... Deep roast... Big chocolate soft oak... Lught blackcurrant nose... Deep rich smooth big body... Chewy malts... Sify chocolate and dark berries... Soft full mouth... Cask malt and hops... Deep black small tan head... Soft smooth roast.. Light creamy mslts... Nice but think i prefered it ehen first tspped 3.8

Cask @ The Guildford Arms, Edinburgh [311013]
Pitch black, dense tan head, some lacing
Aroma of deep dark malts, molasses, soft roast, some treacle, touch of dark sweet fruits, mellow
Taste of rich dark malts, dark molasses, bit of treacle, sweet dark fruits, dark sugars, rich flavour for abv but rather sweet
Palate - Medium body, but bit too sweet and a little cloying mouthfeel, Finish as main flavour, sweet dark malts, slight roast bitter, sweet dark sugars
Overall - I found this a bit too sweet but it was decent enough
