Creamy off white head stayed on deep dark brown body. Raisin, malt & demerara aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a thinner clean back. Raisin, berries, jam, herbal & yeasty tastes with a tangy red wine finish. Unusual for the style - Nice.

Bottle 33cl. from slijterij Breebaart, Purmerend @home poured into a tulip glass. Opaque amberbrown, huge loose foamy beige head, slowly dissipating, patchy lacing. Aroma roasted malts, dark fruits, cherries, some cocoa, woody notes, vinous touch. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, dark fruits, woody notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, rather short sweetbitter aftertaste, fruity and woody notes, quite nice.

A nice light dubbel. Not great, maybe this bottle is a bit oxidized. But the underlying dark candi is good. 1-th commandment Amsterdam

29/3/2021. Bottle sample courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear mid to dark brown with minimal head. Aroma of bread, malt, toffee, medicine, dried fruits, yeast, prune, ripe banana. Medium plus sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Sweet and medicinal to finish. Not a big fan.

330ml bottle from ORB, Darlington. Hazy amber brown colour, off-white foamy head and aroma of wheat, caramel, bready, yeast. Taste is malty, wheaty, bready, some fruity yeasty notes, banana, dried fruits and tangy grassy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, lingering sweetish yeasty bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Bottle. Wine Rack, Sharrow, Sheffield. Hazed, conker brown. Thick, uneven, beige foam. Nose has gravy granules. Some date and prune. Some brown bread. Taste has soft sweetness. A little dry. Medium body. Distractingly high light of carbonation. Dry and light bitter finish.

*rating overgezet 2016* Het is een roodbruin bier met een volle beige schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van fruit en kruiden. De smaak is kruidig en drop achtig.
