Keg at Cotteridge Wines tasting room; clear amber pour with a off white head, aroma has citrus and some sweet malts, taste has sharp citrus, some bitter grapefruit, sweet malts.

Draft at The Old Coffee House, Soho. Hazy golden orange with a white head. Aroma of fruity hops, dank notes, that strawberry milkshake hop (tm) coming out along with some caramel malt. Flavour is light moderate sweet and above moderate bitter. Medium bodied with above light carbonation.

Keg at the Old Coffee House, 20/02/17. Clear golden with a decent off white cap. Nose carries mosaic hops, passionfruit, melon, orange pith, tangerine, straw. Taste comprises orange peel, grapefruit, grass, light bread dough, melon, faint pine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, juicy hop splash in the close. Decent enough APA.

Another beer back from the dead. This time on keg dispense at Old Coffee House, so colder thankfully. It pours hazy golden - amber with a thick white head. The aroma is freshly cut grass, herbal, sage, chive, onion, bread, biscuit, stone fruit and sweet lemon. The taste is crisp, bitter, a bit grainy, biscuit malt, cereal, pine needles, grassy, onion, pithy, grapefruit rind and a touch of astringency. Finish if firmly dry and a bit grainy. Medium body and moderate + foamy carbonation. The green onion vibe is a bit off-putting. Pretty so-so stuff from Brodie’s. I had hoped keg was gonna be better than the crazy hot cask ales, but not particularly.

Cask at the Old Coffee House - Soho, London. Pours perfectly clear yellow-gold with a frothy white head. The nose holds some citrus hops, dank grapefruit, pee, slight minerals. Light sweet flavor with big dry smokiness and minerals, bitter grass, citrus pith. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Hard bitter finish with lots of lasting dry minerality and pale smoke off notes. Dominated by what appear to be a few brewing flaws.

King William IV. Cask. Bright clear gold beer, little white head. Palate is smooth with very moderate carbonation. Hops are light but flavoursome. Light skunk and passion fruit. Touch of apricot. Tiny bit of bitterish aniseed. Finishes semi dry with moderate bitterness. Easy drinking!

(Cask at King William IV, Leyton, London, 25 Apr 2013) Pale golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with grass, lemon and resin. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grass, lemon peel and a generous citric, grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Refreshing and tasty with a generous hop character. Nice one.
