Nils Oscar Imperial Stout is brewed only in a limited edition. Also Nils Oscar Imperial Stout was awarded as the best beer in the world. This beer is brewed with many varieties of hops and malt, nothing saved to make the stout full of character. Imperial Stout is best enjoyed combined with the dessert but works wonderfully with oysters. The Nils Oscar Imperial Stout can be enjoyed today but preferably mature a couple of years.

Poured from 330mL bottle (bb Jan 2007; fiulijnator cellar beer). Dark brown with minimal beige head. Gentle roast malt, feint fruity chocolate note. Decent for its age.

330ml @ Ryan's shared by Alex. BB Jan-2007. Appearance: very dark brown with a weak beige head. Aroma: some roasted malt and a bit of heaviness. Taste: along the same lines, quite thin, even for 7% one. Feels like 5% one. Quite low carbonation. Overall: aging did the work, but it is still pretty good.

From notes. Wasn't rating when I drank these. Couple different vintages, I believe 2005-2007 or thereabouts. Dark mahogany, fully receding, tan head. Quite roasty with some licorice, dry alcohol and plentiful caramel. Very English in it's presentation of fig, raisin and molasses. But still quite stiff. Soft and sweet but drying out considerably with alcohol, ashen roast and long caramel and raisin/prune finish. Classic stuff, maybe better on the younger side in account of all the dryness.

Bottle, courtesy of MiP. Pours cloudy nearly black with airy but stable dark tan head. Clear aroma of yeast, malt and roast, with fruity touches and dusty notes. Bitter, roasty and coffee like flavour with sweetish notes of yeast and malt, and some acidic and dusty touches. Bitter, roasty and estery aftertaste. 5 years past the BBD - hence the dusty nuances, but still going strong. Good stuff.
