We usually do not make compromises, but this is probably the exception. Norwegians are dead scared of dark beers. This is an attempt to show that there are gentle dark ales. As such Havre Stout is smooth and drinkable.

We think Havre Stout is good both with and in food. Try pairing it with a read meet dish, or give your vanilla icecream a small dash before serving. Recommended serving temperature 8°C/45°F.

Black with quick fading head. Aroma has lots of roasted malts and hints of coffee. Flavour is similar but more muted. Nice bittersweet taste.

BOTTLE 50 CL. Opaque black, espresso head. The aroma is mostly chocolate cake, slightly sweet and oily roasty nuttiness. The taste is chocolate cookies, a bit too thin, with a somewhat harsh bitterness with notes of overly roast walnuts.

Bottle, batch 1080-c. Pours black, with a big creamy mocha head. Aroma is dark roasted malts with coffee and cocoa, as well as some burned wood. Medium body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is roasted malts with bread, notes of cocoa and dark fruits, as well as some earthy, astringent berry notes.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Stas & Max. Black with a tan head. Aroma is a bit sourish, with roast, coffee, a fruity touch and yeast. Roasty flavor, dry, sourish, with coffee, a bit of fruitiness, a bit of bread, and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied.
