Can at M-Café Leuven, opening over the entire top surface, something rarely seen even in progressive craft beer culture. Thanks Tessa for sharing! Creamy, regularly shaped, pale greyish beige, lightly lacing, stable head over a very dark burgundy-brown beer, bordering on black. Aroma of hazelnut paste, blood-like iron, walnut oil, raw salsify, 'fondant' chocolate, caramel candy, tea bags, fresh brown bread, butterscotch. Sweetish onset, dried fig, vague blackberries, sourish touch, spritzy carb but acceptable for the style, lightly oily mouthfeel with a metallic edge. Nutty and caramel candy-like maltiness, sweetish with a very soft toasty bitterish accent to it, mildly spicy hop touch, lingering iron effect, clean finish, softly bitter with remaining caramel sweetishness. Decent and typical modern porter, nothing more, nothing less.

33cl can at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours almost black with virtually no foam. Aroma is brown bread, sourdough biscuits. Body is slightly thin with limited carbonation. Taste is delicate in both sweetness and bitterness, not particularly interesting. Finish is short.
