7th April 2012
ChrisOs Easter Tasting. Clear dark amber beer, tiny little pale tan head. Light dry crisp palate. Molasses and minerals. That’s about all! Drinkable by the skin of it’s teeth.

Can at Chriso’s Easter tasting 2012, given to me by a friend. It pours deep amber, with a thick beige head. The nose is cardboard, sweet caramel and toffee. The taste is molasses, chocolate, caramel, cardboard and a hint of roasted malt, with a dry finish. A bit dull.

Can. A bitch to find this one, as the can says it’s at 4.3% ABV or more! It pours a clear, dark brown body under a rapidly diminishing beige head. Cold coffee, dried dark fruits, roasted malts and a hint of chocolate on the nose. Medium body and a a coffee-bitter, roasted finish with a sort of pleasant butter-cream touch. The initial flavor is pretty much like the aroma, with coffee, roasted malts and a little butter. A very decent Chinese beer. Not very good, but sure drinkable. 100423

Test vom 20.11.2006, Gebinde: Dose Noten: 7,6,7,11,12,7

Deep brown in colour (about 75% opaque) with a smallish tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and some lighter pit fruits. Light to Medium-bodied; Tastes of raisins, molasses, soy sauce are noticeable. Aftertaste shows some darker and roastier flavours. Overall, a decent beer for being Chinese and being 20 some cents, but the beer was still light for the style. I sampled this 33 cL can purchased from SciTech Plaza on 12-March-2005 in the Hotel New Otani Chang Fu Gong in Beijing, PRC.
