Cask at Pig’s Ear beer festival 2013, Hackney, London. A dark brown coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Malty, caramel, spice aroma. Tastes of caramel, malty, spice, fruity, slight sweetness.

500 ml bottle at home. Murky dark brown pour. Aromas are caramel, toffee, dark stone fruit. Taste is sweet, with a lingering chocolate bitterness. Thin body, light bitter finish.

Dark caramel brown, clear, dense slight off white head
Aroma - soft fruity caramel malts, soft dark fruits
Taste - caramel malts, fruity malts, dab of raisin, touch of brown bread, some dark creramy toffee, getting a hint of chocolate, nice caramel, good tasting beer
Palate - Medium body, smooth texture, soft body. Finish as main flavour, smooth, good balance
Overall - Came across as a really good Scottish malty ale...really enjoyed this...was in good condition

Bottle from Jenners loch lomond. It pours deep mahogany with a small white head. The nose is red fruit, berry, jam, caramel and leather. The taste is wood, berry, jam, light tartness, leather and earth with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty tasty...

Bottle at Chriso Tasting, London. Pours auburn with a sturdy, tan foam head. Semi-dark malt nose, some leaves and berries. Basic stuff, flavor of dry toasty and leaves, some light dried fruits. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry finish, light sweetness, more dry fruits. OK.

50 cl bottle. Pours clear and golden orange to brown with a small off white head. Aroma is toasted malty and light breadish to caramelish. Bitter, toasted malty and caramelish. Smooth malty and light sweet finish.
