A hoppy amber ale, brewed with a complex mash of Marris Otter pale malt, Rye, Caramalt, Chocolate and Wheat.
American and English hop varieties provide a delightful marmalade / citrus bitterness, well balanced by the sweetness of the malt.

50cl bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Clear orange color, medium sized lightly creamy white to off-white head that leaves nice lacing. Smell lightly malts, nicely hoppy, lightly sweetish flowers. Taste lightly malts, hops, bitter, lightly flowers and blossom. Fresh, soft carbonation and medium body.

Bottle from Vino Wine, Morningside
Dark amber, quite hazy, frothy white head, some lacing
Aroma - citrus hops, grapefruit, soft orange, sweet fruity malts, fruity caramel, lots of sweet citrus hops, good aroma
Taste - sweet caramel malts. touch of cereal malts, citrus and peppery hops, soft grapefruit, caramel malts don’t overpower the hops, good balance
Palate - soft carb, medium body, smmooth texture, soft bit zesty palate. Finish - bitter spicy hops with caramel malts background, bitter spicy linger
Overall - Really nice bottled beer - it’s not made anymore now so I’ll have to try the American Rye. If it’s better than this it should be really good.

Cask Gravity at The Hope ’Living is Easy’ Beer Fest. It pours clear amber, with a quickly dissipating white head. The nose is pretty subtle: weak lemon, caramel, leather and sweat. The taste is wood, leather, some caramel sweetness, pepper and lemon, with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Not much to it. A sub-par effort from the usually great Buxton brewery.
