Bottle. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of elderflower, chilli pepper. Flavour of lime chutney and spicy ginger. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. A bit too hot but this grew on me.

Cask at Green Dragon, Croydon. It pours clear amber, medium white head. The nose is grainy, biscuit, ginger and light sweetness... a lot like gingernuts! The taste is sweetish, spicy ginger, earth, pithy lemon, grainy and biscuit with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Ok for it is... A fairly one-dimensional gingerbeer.

Bottle. It pours an almost clear body, golden in color and with a small, white head. The aroma has lots of ginger, with some white bubbles as a head. Malty flavor with ginger and hints of lemon. A decent bitterness too. Medium body, with some warmth towards the end. Guess that’s the ginger causing it. Certainly not a favorite of mine, but it’s a decent ginger beer. 121005

500 ml bottle. Clear golden body with a fast disappearing white head. Aroma is mainly ginger and soap. Flavor is sweet, light malt, soapy ginger, and not much bitterness. Medium body and a bit short aftertaste with even more ginger. I like ginger, but a lot of these British ginger beers seem to be just ginger with no depth.

500 ml bottle, as Strathaven / Craigmill Ginger Jock Alcoholic Ginger Beer, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4%. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of ginger, malts, toffee and citrus marmalade. Light bodied, too much carbonation in the mouth. The flavour has distinct notes of ginger with a citrussy finish, and is otherwise quite dry. A moderate ginger burn in the aftertaste. Okay as a refreshment, but really not much to write home about.

Re-rate - nice ginger biscuit thing going on. Much better on cask apparently. Score is slightlybiased towards this rating nut taking into account the originalone. Previous rating 09/12/11 = 2.8 50cl bottle. Pours a light, golden with steady bubbles and a nice head. The nose has biscuits and ginger. The taste is light and citrussy and then a biscuit finish. The palate is light bodied and thin textured with a dry finish. Overall, a bit then on the palate after a promising start.
