Dark hazy reddish brown, off-white head. Aroma sweet malty, reminding of kvass. Raisins, caramel, some alcohol in the nose, yeast, fruity hops. Flavour rather sweet malty, caramel, some herbs. Notes of yeast and roasted malts. Light roasted and hoppy bitterness. Finish rather sweet with lingering burned malt notes.

Etwas trocken, muffig. Ich habe Besseres erwartet. 12/9/9/8/10/9

Cloudy chocolate brown beer. Semi dry palate. Rich malt with a good dash of chocolate and a little aniseed alcohol and brandy. Not nad but was hoping for a lot more from this big Dutch Eisbock!

Bottle at Kerstbier Festival, Essen, Belgique, 19.12.10 Pours conker brown in colour with light beige head. There is an immediate warmth from the alcohol, though not too boozy. There is a also a slightly fruity twang. Some burnt toffee, spicy, getting better as it warms up. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov13 3.2

On tap at Arendsnest in Amsterdam, November 2010. Hazy brownish/red with a small creamy head. Not that balanced, quite boozy. Still rather drinkable with taste of spices and malt.
