Born in the luminous moors in an environment of untamed lochs and haunted Scottish castles, the ale Gordon Scotch Ale is so generous that it is willingly shared. Its white, unctuous foam, in total contrast with the dark brown elixir, is a pleasure for the palate. The connoisseur fraternity will recognise the authentic Scotch : the soul of the Scottish Highlands.

Clear ruby brown colour, tall fluffy creamy beige head, receding slowly, heavy lacing. Aroma malty, roasted, caramel, dark fruits (berries, cherries), chocolate. Smooth taste, onset light heavy to medium sweet and slightly bitter, roasted malts, fruity, milk chocolate, light toffee. In the middle part more roasted bitterness, leading to a sweetbitter finish, roasty and chocolate notes linger on. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, very good.

Bottle, picked up in a Brussels supermarket. Clear, dark copper colour. Lasting, light tan head. Nose is nutty. Some squidgy malts. Toffee. Burnt caramel. Booze and yeast. Taste is caramel sweet. Vine fruit dryness. Some burnt bitterness. Bit of booze on the palate. Not overly smooth. Dryish finish.
