Cask at PoW, Aberdeen. It pours deep brown with a decent, bubbly off - white head. The aroma is earthy roast, toasted brown bread, bit of caramel, treacle, malt loaf and festive spice. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, wood, leather, warming festive spice, gingerbread, brown bread and cakey malts with a smooth, cakey finish. Light to medium body and soft carbonation. Well rounded and drinkable.

Cask at the Magpie & Crown, Brentford, UK on 14th January 2011. Ruby with a white slippery head. Fruity, berries aroma. Spicy touches and smokiness together with a rich fruit palate. Zingy mouthfeel. Sweetish finish with some bitterness and smokiness, although front-mouth sweetness lingers in the aftertaste.
