0.5l bottle. Pours like engine oil, thick and jet black. Huge amount of coffee, chocolate and caramel in the aroma with some vanilla and oak. Taste of vanilla, chocolate, caramel, bourbon, nutmeg, oak and a tiny bit of floral hops. A really complex dessert beer. Great way to end a trip to Copenhagen.

One of the blackest pours i’ve ever seen?
Even the head was a very very dark brown. Aroma or intense roasted malts, lots of bourbon, burnt wood, coffee, soy, and a touch of lactic sourness. Chewy mouth feel, almost viscous. Intense roasted malt flavor. Burnt espresso, and some bitter cocoa. Warm alcohol finish with touches of bourbon. Good but not great.

(Keg at Mikkeller Helsinki, 20210116) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had vanilla, burnt malts and ash. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, vanilla, ash, liquorice, sweetness, dark chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, sweet, boozy and bitter. A pleasant burnt brew with strong barrel notes.

Thick, touch chocolate vanilla creaminess. Not getting a ton from the barrels, coffee sharpness, soft round finish.

Svart med lys brunt skum. Lukter bourbon, vanilje, mørk sjokolade og eik. Fyldig. Mørk sjokolade, noe kaffe, fatlagringen kommer tydelig fram med eik, vanilje og bourbon.

Re-rated since I got a B1 aged for a while. Thanks Phredrik for this (!!!) You’re a scholar and a sir! Pours pitch black with a small dense dark - and I mean dark - brown head. Oily, thick. The aroma is so much different from the newer batches, wow. Sweet licorice, tobacco, vanilla, sweet fudge, savory notes, soy, prunes, cocoa powder, roasted malts. Taste has a shitload of tobacco, sweet raisins, bitter cocoa, fudge, vanilla, dark malty and roasty finish.

330ml bottle. Darkest brwon colour with late awakening, small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, brown head. Roasty dark malty and BA aroma, notes of Bourbon, treacle, caramel, vanilla. Taste is moderately sweet, roasty dark malty, chocolately, notes of caramel, treacle, Bourbon, vanilla, chocolate sauce, minimally citrusy, tart-ish, fruity hints of orange, Cointreau lend some freshness and easiness. Viscous texture, super soft, smooth, creamy and minimally sticky palate, soft carbonation. Highly drinkable, well balanced and harmonious.

Bottle from kappldav123, thanks! Black colored, small but persistant head. Malt, cream and lots of licorice in the aroma, hiding the bourbon. malty sweet flavor with a harmonious mix of licorice, bourbon and cream. Very well balanced in spite of the alcohol, loads of flavor and deceptively drinkable.
