330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Due to a mix-up at the brewery some of these bottles found their way here. Rich port-like flavours emerge prominently from this oily cocoa character, with a deep comforting sweetness. Intense.

250 ml bottle. Pours black with moderate head. Aromas of watery bourbon, medicinal alcohol and very light hints of the original George. Flavors of nutty dark chocolate, vanilla, and base George. Hot. Disappointing relative to George but still a good beer.

0,33L bottle (from bierkompass.de). Pours black with brown head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is intense dark chocolate, bourbon, coffee, malt. Flavor is very intense dark chocolate, roast, coffee, bourbon, smoke. Finish is intense roast bitter. Overall: great "punch in the face" stout, one of the best beers I have ever tried.

Pitch black colour, tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, coffee, roasted malts. Bitter flavour, sweet, brown sugar, lots of liquorice, bay leaf, laurierdrop. Quite boozy. Finish lingering liquorice, sweet caramel and brown sugar.

Bottle. Pours pitch black, with very little head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts, with quite straight forward cocoa and tobacco, as well as some sweet notes of barrel. Creamy body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is roasted malts, with oaken barrels, cocoa, leather and kandi, as well as lots of sweet bourbon notes. Lingering notes of burned malts and sweet, herbal cocoa in the finish.

(330ml bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Nov 14 2014) Pours jet black with a tiny pale brown head that fades to a ring with no lace. Aroma has lots of vanilla and dark chocolate, bourbon, light roast notes make it past that. Very full rich flavours, dark chocolate and bourbon to the fore, sweet, charred wood notes, some vanilla, hints of coffee and licorice. Wood and bourbon build in the finish with the chocolate and molasses sweetness fading a bit, char and alcohol heat providing some dryness to an otherwise sweetish palate. Rich, full creamy thick body with very soft carbonation. This is a big stout bursting with flavour and lots of barrel character. Very good stuff, dangerously easy to drink and pretty complex. Missing that certain something that makes it truly exceptional, but happy to drink again and again.

Bottle. Black oily beer, no head. Delicious aroma of cacao and vanilla. Sticky mouthfeel. Taste starts with malt, chocolate and and some milky coffee. After that a wave of bourbon vanilla, which combines into a more bitter aftertaste, with a layer of cherry. This is world class. (But retardedly expensive.)
