Draught Leper - Pours a clear golden colour with a medium sized white head that settled. Aroma is citrusy, some yeastiness, some wheat and light vinegar notes. A crisp malty yeast flavour, some honey sweetness comes through, along with a decent bitterness in the finish.

Bottle from Bier Paleis, Brugge. Golden-blonde with a thin head. Typically Belgian with a fair strength translating into a bubble gum sweetness.

Bottle at the Elm Tree from Belgian National Day Festival. Light gold, hazy with a tiny film of white head. Honey, rice vinegar, paint in the aroma with lighter touches of wheat and vanilla. Taste has a light yeasty sweetness at first. Then a committed bitterness follows, which quickly turns to a medicinal sour. Long astringent finish. Crabapple and lemon juice in the uncompromising aftertaste, with a parting shot of raw honey. Carbonation isn’t heavy but it certainly lifts the slick body. I ended up enjoying this but it does take a while to get used to.

33cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. A slightly hazy straw coloured pour with a billowing white head; floral aroma with hints of yeast and citrus; a tart, white wine taste to start but rapidly mellowing with some honey; then some herbs adding spice and warmth and a grassy bitterness; then a dry cider apple finish. A fresh and refreshing light Belgian ale - really enjoyable.

F: big, white, good retention. C: blonde pale gold, hazy with yeasty veils. A: malt, some fruity sourness, peach, coriander, spicy, light yeast. T: malt, peach, yeast, coriander, spicy, light to medium body, lively carbonation, quite good but simple yeasty/coriander but I like coriander, 33cl bottle as a gift.
