Pure white creamy head on a light golden, slightly effervescent with lots of particles (2 years past BBE - not that it matters!) Light Belgian yeast aroma. Medium bodied - creamy. Soft floral tastes with Belgian yeast. Very easy drinking.

Glass at in de vrede. Bright golden color to light orange, hazed. Big bubbly white head, fizzy. Aroma is amazing, malty with a lot of spices, almond, balsamic herbs, greatly hopped, some trademark yeast. Taste is perfect, full, harmonious yet very crisp and punchy. Body is medium while carbonation is explosive and maybe too much (but i didn’t pour myself sui i could not let it breathe), extra dry. Finish is long, aromatic, fresh, hoppy, dry. Excellent, delicious, i’d dare to say this is the champagne of beer, amazing belgian ale. A bit of extra point as it’s hard to find and the area is beautiful.

Bottle bought at Beautiful Beers and drunk at home. Light blond, slightly hazy with a big white head. Smells of lemon, yeast rolls, hay, light sweet spices. Gorgeous taste: sweet with a slight lemony sourness. Delicate balance with some sweet and spicy yeast providing more dominance in the finish while never relinquishing the gentle back-of-the-tongue bitterness. Coriander, bay leaf, Horlicks and lemon balm in the aftertaste. Special.

Bottle. Hazy yellow. Moderate white well-lacing head. Aroma: fruity and spicy yeast. Pale malts. Medium body. The taste is medium dry, fresh, fruity, spicy. Light to medium ending bitterness. Floral notes. Hops and a hint of nuts on aftertaste. Very good.

Might be "the basic beer for the monks’ own consumption", but I’m finding nothing basic about Westvleteren Blond at all. Perhaps the best pure example of a Belgian single available, Westie Blond hits all the bright, grassy hefe notes you want from a traditional golden Trappiste ale, yet also brings along wonderfully deep Belgian esters to the mix, reaching the perfect ratio of banana to clove against a red apple sweetness. Modest floral hop finish, and the fade gives up bready yeast and a lingering but restrained sweet roll undercurrent. As gorgeous as a beer can be, and the feel’s perfect. I understand why Westvleteren 12 gets all the attention, but I’m a Blond guy through and through.

Pours hazy golden orange with a frothy head that lingers. The aroma is overall fruity, dominated by pear, apple, and sparkling white wine. Taste is bittersweet, fruity, light spice, lightly yeasty, with a tart apple undertone. The body stays fairly light. Good.
