Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of nuttiness, molasses, licorice, dark fruit, leather, smoke, char, herbal, wood, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of nuttiness, molasses, licorice, dark fruit, leather, smoke, char, herbal, wood, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/spicy hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, toasted dark/brown bread, light dark fruit/smoke/char, herbal, wood, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with an awesome roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and zero acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from roast/hop bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol for 7.8%. Overall this is an outstanding robust porter. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Very rich and complex malts; pleasant earthy hops and fruity yeast character in the background. Never too roasty feeling; plenty of Crystal/Munich malt character. Kind of a mix between American and English porters on overall style. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Zwart bier met bruin schuim wat snel wegzakt. Smaak is warm en krachtig, licht bitter en licht zoet met duidelijk chocolade en sporen van rook, room en karamel. Erg goed bier, iets om echt van te genieten.

Keg at Beaverfest. Malty chocolate and coffee aroma. A glossy jet black. Creamy beige head. Multiayered - medium bitter, a sweet cream, coffee beerry sourness. Heavy bodied. Creamy. A prickle of carb. Slighlty atringent. A really lovely porter.

Bottle. Color: Almost black, thick dense nutbrown head. Taste: Rather sweet espresso, earthy, roasted, notes of dark chocolate. Less bittery and more sweet than most porters. Notes of honey is mostly at the very beginning of a new sip. Smooth and silky mouthfeel. Personally I prefer the more bittery porters, but this definitely is a good beer to try.
