good sized off white head. Nice lacing on the sides of my tulip. Aroma is ALL oak. There is a slight funk, with a tinge of citrus, but it’s all dominated by oak. Flavour is again, all oak. I’mnot gettig much else out of this beer, i dont see a huge difference from the original Innis and Gunn beer. There is a tiny bit of hoppy bitterness, but meh, not my thing.

Hazy amber beer. Strong vanilla nose. Soft palate. Intense sweet vanilla (like a cream soda! ) completely dominates some orange hop. A little woody dryness with even more vanilla. Not a patch on Three Floyds Blackheart but still a decent and unusual beer.

Bottle from Bierzwerg. Golden color with a nice white head. Aroma of citrus, hops. Taste, toffee, lime, coriander. Nice long grapefruit with toffee bittersweet finish. Good.

A lightly murky amber IPA with a thick collapsing off white head. In aroma, strong caramel scotch, honey, vanilla beans, treacle, some maderization which was not off putting. In mouth, a sweet concoction of beer with rum and scotch, warming alcohol, wooden barrels, light hops, a tad cloying. Bottle from LCBO, BB Dec. 08.

Clear golden-amber. Whiskeyish vanilla aroma. Low carbonation. Tons of sugar, again with light vanilla/whiskey notes. Kind of bland. Maybe some slight oxidation.

Bottle from Kensington Wine Market Beer, Calgary
Golden color, with a thin persistent layer. It has a light aroma of toffee and fudge, very nice. Quite mellow mouthfeel, lean malt flavor, with vanilla and cookies, sweetish; there is also a touch of citrus fruits, maybe even sour. The final is not strong, with this mix of vanilla and citrus fruits. Not bad, but definitively strange.
