Wilderen Kriek is gebrouwen met spontaan gegiste Lambic. Langzaam gerijpt op grote oud eikenhouten foedervaten. Hieraan werd 25% van de rijpste en sappigste krieken toegevoegd. Wilderen Kriek heeft hierdoor een prachtige dieprode kleur en zeer fruitig aroma.

33cl bottle. Dans la série je crée une bière à la cerise et je ruine le tout avec une dose d’édulcorant, je présente le Wilderen Kriek. Couleur bigarrée col rosé crémeux. Arôme de cerise et grains le tout restant doux avec ici tout le bienfait du surdosage de sucre tirant vers le faux artificiel sirop Teisseire. Palais est bien de cerise, et cela s’arrête là. Le tout est ruiné par un ajout de faux sucre qui font que le peu d’aigreur de la cerise se retrouve noyer dans une marre de colorants et sirop. Au final, une bière à la cerise qui vient encore s’ajouter à une pléthore de bières du même style qui ne se démarque que par le public ciblé par un produit insipide qui gâche tout le bon côté de la cerise.

Huge piggy-pink, fine head, leaving textbook rings over hazy ruby beer. Childrens’ cherrysweets nose. Syrupy, artificial, etc., etc. No lambic whatsoever in the smell. Sourish-sweet, indeed very fruity but partly artificial. Still, better than the nose promised. But even the tartness has something artificial: citric acid rather than lambic... Refreshing if served cold; sticky warming up. Oh well... if it weren’t for that stupid blurb I wouldn’t even mind it that much.

Clear deep ruby red beer, big creamy light pink head, unstable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of cherry candy, sickening sweet cherry syrup, very artificial. MF: ok carbon, light to medium body. Taste: cherry candy, very sweet and sugary, "poepkes", slight hint of lemon or some citric acidity. Aftertaste: sugar, sugar, cherry syrup and sugar. Meh.

On tap at Cafe de Bontekoe, Leiden, Thursday 4th October 2012 Pours blood red with a girly pink head. Sweet, sickly cherry nose, which is replicated in the mouth. Much too sweet but to be fair there is a sour tang underneath the sweetness. It is certainly cherry flavoured but more cherry syrup than sour cherry. Despite this it is a beer that still has some redeeming features, and I still like the look. A6 A5 T5 P3 Ov10 2.9
