Bottle. (thanks to my friend Balder for this one) BF dec 2012. Brownish/yellow with a small head. Rather vinous, it reminded a bit of Madeira. Dried fruit, some butter, toffee, nuts, some dust. Not much carbonation left. Also some light spices. Still drinkable. I wonder how it tasted 6 years ago? Now I finally have sampled all the vintages of NO Julöl.

Draught @ Olutravintola Pikkulintu. Rated on 4.12.2010
Aroma is sweetish and rather peppery and spicy. Flavour is really spicy with some hints of sweet malt, caramel and raisins in the background. A bit too spicy for my liking, didn’t really notice that this was four years old stuff.

50 cL bottle. Pours almost clear and dark orange to reddish with a lacing white head. Dark malty and light woody malt aroma. Flavour is light spiced and medium dry wooden with a light oldish, yet pleasant, malt flavour. Fruity too. Lingering fruity and dry finish.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a warm, clear, orangey brown with a small, beige head leaving a pretty lacework. Sweet aroma of overripe fruit and caramel with a lightly spicy edge. Quite full-bodied, sweetish malty with notes of caramel, overripe fruit and aroma hops. There’s a vague bitterness in the finish. Excellent. 271107

Bottle at RBESG 2007. Lovely spicy hoppy beer, with good pepper. Having looked at other ratings I thought I had got this one wrong, but MagicDave I see also got the hops on this.
