Tap at 100 piv. Medium body, medium carbonation. Med-high bitterness, with solid grassy vegetal hop burn. Rather low sweetnees. Background malt. Hops character moderately citrusy, kinda muddled by some grassy hop burn, does not feel too fresh, but okay. Overall okay, good but not great.

Hazy IPA by trusted Amager in collaboration with famed American craft brewer Surly; can from their taproom in Copenhagen. Cream white, moussy, medium thick, gradually dissipating head eventually reduced to a waferthin ring of tiny bubbles; hazy yellowish straw blonde robe with beige tinge. Aroma of lime zest, fresh lemon thyme, mandarin, pineapple, mango purée, grapefruit zest, mugwort leaves, pine resin, leftover dough, cooked sweet potatoes. Sweetish and sourish onset, very citric from the start and ‘green-fruity’ with hints of unripe guava and green mango – even a touch of cucumber; fizzy carbonation, bit powdery, dryish and quite ‘full’ mouthfeel. Cracker- and cereal-like pale maltiness bittered by piney, grapefruity, resinous hoppiness, adding aromas of white pepper, lime zest, green onion, spruce and lemon thyme retronasally. Oddly, the tropical fruit notes (pineapple, mango) that ‘hit’ me orthonasally immediately after pouring, faded away very quickly, with almost nothing of them left in the end; a vague hop burn is also noticeable so it is fair to say that there are better IPAs around even within Amager’s range. Still decent enough if you don’t mind the details – feeling a bit like a West Coast IPA under New England guise.

Fast gone white head; veiled faintly orangey golden beer. Exotic fruit/citrus/asafoetida a mile out. Intense citrus, fruity, little bit of ureum. Dry-bitterish, some pale malts, faint toast. Citruspeel, less fruity than the nose. Ends a bit liqueurish. Faintly syrupy, not very carbonated, medium to better bodied. Very good nose, but not tasting very fresh. Thanks to Stef!

Tap @ Amager Bryghus Taproom Nørreport. Had this superb IPA a few times before but realized I just have forgotten to rate it by some reason, so finding this fresh on tap straight from the source gave me a god opportunity to do so. It has an unclear golden body with a fine, big, lacing white head. Nice aroma of fresh, fruity hops with citric fruit, peach, grapefruit, grass and some pine with pale malt. Taste has a fine, fresh and balancing mix of all the above fruits with soft, smooth malt and good, distinct bitterness. Fine balanced body and long lasting aftertaste. A relay nice, proper IPA for sure.

Can from Deconinck. Hazy ochre, unstable, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of pineapple, perfumey pine, spruce, tangerine peel, yellow grapefruit, spices, pepper. Taste has sweetish pineapple, tangerine & peach; sourish zesty accent; bitter core of grapefruit, herbs & spices over bready maltiness. Earthy, resinous hoppy finish, very grapefruity, peppery with a decent hop burn. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Hefty stuff, strong IPA character at only 6.5%.
