Complex dark ale. 5 different malts are fused, creating an elaborate bitter/sweet undertone. Late additions of Euro & USA hops finish it off nicely.

Cask at the Brewpub. Mahogany and translucent with a big cream-coloured head. Malt loaf and stone fruit dominate the aroma with a touch of smoky liquorice. Tastes sweet and fruity but there is a dry herby bitter hoppiness in the finish. Body’s a bit on the thin side and there is the slightest astringency to it. OK but I think I wanted a tiny bit more.

Sampled draught at The Clockwork Beer Co., Glasgow
Dark ruby. Grapefruit aroma. Malty and sweetish with an immediate punch of American hops. Loads of chocoalte flavour and really bitter finish. Much firmer than the Red Alt Beer, and by far my favourite offering from this brewpub.
