The Mc Chouffe is an unfiltered dark beer (such as scotch).
Full of character, Mc CHOUFFE delights lovers of dark beer all over the world. Its distinctive flavour, its dark ruby colour and its fine creamy head make it a unique beer. Mc CHOUFFE is also characterised by its spicy aniseed and liquorice flavours, superbly complemented by full-bodied caramel notes. Despite its robustness, Mc CHOUFFE is surprisingly smooth. It even reveals delicious fruity notes, especially pear, as well as a very slight hint of bitterness at the end of the palate. With its 8% alcohol content, like LA CHOUFFE, Mc CHOUFFE is appreciated with the same lightness as its big blond sister.

Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a very dark brown colour, a hint of red and a medium sized beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma of dry dark fruits, bubblegum, chocolate, caramel, sugar, a hint of roasted malt and yeast. Taste is the same notes as the aroma, more pronounced dry fruit, bubblegum and some spice. Alcohol is very well hidden. A hint of bitter hop on the finish. Carbonated fizzy palate, slightly oily mouthfeel. Fairly complex and unique tasting beer.

Chouffe version: Malt and chocolate aroma. Sweetish, malty, whisky and chocolate flavor. Some alcohol. This beer is reasonably well hopped, but that is hidden by the velvety sweetness. Very likeable beer, tasty and powerful. 8 3 8 4 15 = 3.8 moortgat version, small bottle. Dark brown color. Chocotoff and butter in the aroma. Medium to full bodied. Alcoholic. malty sweet flavor with caramelly notes. Pleasant and very drinkable, but also flat and onedimensional. 7 3 7 3 12 = 3.2

A real nice flavourful beer. Not as big bold and rich as some in the style. But all the right fig molasses and liquorice notes, along with the belgian yeast. online belgian beer factory

Bottle from a previous Belgian trip. A murky brown coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Yeasty, malty, dark fruit, spice. Typical strong Belgian.
