Concoction à la robe sombre et à la mousse moka dont le nez émane des effluves d’espresso et de tabac d’orchestre. Ces forts accents sont agrémentés en bouche de notes vertes qui rappellent de manière adroite le cèdre, le thé vert et l’orange chocolatée. La finale s’engage dans une longue tirade amère procurant au dégustateur un état jouissif de satisfaction aux propensions épiques.

A solid, fluffy, well laced light tan head on a brown/black body. Nose has a soft blend of coffee, chocolate, toffee and citrus hops. Taste profile hits above its weight. Fresh ground coffee, cream, some chocolate and sweet dark berries. Oatmeal and roasted malt add depth and body. Molasses note helps round it out. A touch of acidity in the aftertaste works well too. Bien fait!

Tap at Zeezicht, Breda. Opaque dark brown color, decent sized beige head that diminishes quite quickly. Aroma is malts, lightly dry earthy, a bit dusty. Flavor is malts, lightly dusty, soft distant hoppy notes and light to moderately bitter. Thin texture, soft carbonation, average body. Meh. Expected more from this brewery.

Enjoyed at the brewpub on my 2017 trip. Pours a dark brown colour with a cascading effect, a big creamy beige head, very long lasting with great lacing. Roasted malt nose with loads of coffee and sweet syrup. Roasted malts in the taste with some hops showing dry-bitterness in the finish. A very nice stout with an IPA touch (as now I found out it is a Black IPA). A beautiful-looking beer.

Bouteille 600 ml. De discrètes notes de chocolat, de café et de tabac. Trop discrètes; à peine perceptibles. Un col de mousse épais et persistant, laissant de belles traces, sur un liquide noir et opaque. L’entrée de bouche nous laisse l’impression d’un corps mince avec des notes de tabac, de feuilles de thé, de chocolat moka et d’une finale de durée moyenne au houblonnage légèrement résineux. Les notes de torréfaction sont en évidence. Je l’aurais préférée avec un houblonnage plus en équilibre avec les saveurs maltées. Plus Stout que Black IPA. Je reste sur ma faim.

Belle bouteille, beau collet, beau breuvage, beau vendredi pour y goûter ;-) Le style annoncé (Stout IPA) est peu commun, donc mes références sont bien limitées. Le choix des houblons est judicieux, et l’ensemble est de très grande qualité, comme toujours pour le TDD. En bouche, la texture est un peu agressante, bien sèche et avec une finale abrupte de grains grillés...

Poured from the tap. Black with light tan head. Sweet molasses, Coffee and mild chocolate with hint of hops. Surprisingly sweet for this style, good nonetheless, but definitely took me by surprise at how sweet it was.

Black colour, thick, bubbly head. Definitely comes across with the chocolate mint thing...give or take some Central American espresso, On the palate, a dark roast coffee takes front row, with a lot of hop bitterness but not much for hop flavour. Touch of pine, maybe. Call it black IPA call it hoppy stout...that’s what you’re getting.
