600 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with full head. Aromas of dark caramel, pine, slightly sour dark fruit, and roasted malts. Flavors follow same with a bit of grass and a sour piney finish. More stout would have been better!

Bottle: poured a black color ale with a large light brown foamy head head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light green hops notes with some dry roasted malt notes is interesting. Taste is a mix of chocolate malt notes with some green hops notes with light bitter notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed but doesn’t really stand out from the crowd of black IPA’s.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark brown color, almost black. Roasted malt character, but also some dark chocolate, and the mouthfeel is not too dry. Strong bitterness, not as resiny hopping as other Black IPAs. Some yeast trace adds a layer of complexity.
Very pleasant dark beer.

On tap at St Augustine's, pours black with a tiny beige head. Aroma brings out a good mix of roast and piney hops. Flavour is similar, with sweet caramel roasted malt, backed by some subdued piney hops. Unusual for a black IPA - I guess because the stout component was sweeter. It works but it's not my type of black IPA.

A deep dark IPA with a thin mocha head. In aroma, nice caramel chocolate malt with light floral hops, light coffee grind, nice. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with coffee grind, musty floral hops, resinous and piney, light iron notes, molasses very nice. On tap at St Bock.
