Extra 4 is the latest scion of the notable St. Bernardus family. A refreshing blond beer that is brewed in the classic single style. Every year, our Extra 4 can be enjoyed in spring and summer. Extra 4 shines with the golden hue of pale straw, topped off with a snowy-white collar. As this beer re-ferments in the bottle, it produces a lovely fizz in the glass. EBC 9.

330 ml bottle from 2014 at Kulminator. Pale orange, foamy head. Sourdough, bread, malt and oat, some light metallic notes, citrus notes and yeast, some subtle honey. Mild bitterness, minium sweetness. Light bodied, soft carbonated, dry finish, easy drinking. Nice!

Hazed golden yellow color with a fine white head. Lots of bubbles, but not as high carbonation level as feared. Medium body. Moderate intensity in the aroma. Nice mellow flavor. Fruity, mild citric and mild yeast in the profile. Quite session able beer. Refreshing and fine.

Level 42 Bottleshare and no Mark King in sight. Thanks to Fergus. One of those beers where you think ’how have I not had this’! Light haze on this paleish gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and mildly dry with decent fine carbonation. Softish malts with light dry floralness. Mild spice. Touch of citrus, lemony. Softish floral fruits and a whisper of sherbet. Light finish. Tasty enough.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of residual sugar with some peppery yeast notes. Taste is a great mix of residual candi sugar with some peppery and spicy yeast notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Easy drinking with just enough complexity.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Fergus. Pours clear yellow with a creamy, white head. The nose holds crunchy pale grains, ligh honey, dough, wheat. Light-medium sweet flavour with more dried cereal, straw, lemon peel. Light bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish with more crispy cereal, dry dough, citrus peel, mild grass and hay. Nice, drinkable beer.
