Extra 4 is the latest scion of the notable St. Bernardus family. A refreshing blond beer that is brewed in the classic single style. Every year, our Extra 4 can be enjoyed in spring and summer. Extra 4 shines with the golden hue of pale straw, topped off with a snowy-white collar. As this beer re-ferments in the bottle, it produces a lovely fizz in the glass. EBC 9.

Hazy golden beer, thick white head. Smells light, bready and zesty. Flavour has some citrus, a little banana, a bit grassy, a good amount of malt. Decent body to it but refreshing.

Bottle, bb 9/21. Gold with a large white head that fades to a little under an inch but never disappears. Aroma is yeasty and spicy with grass and vague citrus. Pretty thin, spritzy. A little sweetness but dry and moderately bitter at an end that's full of spices.

Bottle from Sophie's Beer Store. Aroma combines citrus with basement. A yeasty basement. Light gold. Frothy bubbly white head. Medium citrus sourness. Light bitterness on the periphery adding a soda element. There's some sweet yeasty but it's incredibly shy. Malty finish. Light. Thin. Fizzy carbonation. Dry finish. Light but importantly it's also crisp and refreshing.

Bottle from Livonia Liquor. Probably a bit past its prime. Pours a dark gold with a quickly dissipating head. Malty aromas with more sweet malt on the palate. A touch of aged hops present with some candi sugar. Slightly watery finish with candi sugar, malt and faint notes of yeast. Want to try a fresher bottle in the future.
