Extra 4 is the latest scion of the notable St. Bernardus family. A refreshing blond beer that is brewed in the classic single style. Every year, our Extra 4 can be enjoyed in spring and summer. Extra 4 shines with the golden hue of pale straw, topped off with a snowy-white collar. As this beer re-ferments in the bottle, it produces a lovely fizz in the glass. EBC 9.

Yeast notes, with mild spiciness. Fairly plain malt, a little bitter with some off notes. Not wowed.

0,33 l bottle. Pours hazy light golden with big, frothy, short lasting off white head. Aroma is extremely fruity, peaches and stone fruit, cardamom, along with some malt and yeast. But fruit dominates. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Body is light, carbonation lively, almost prickly and mouthfeel pleasantly creamy. Finish is medium long, fruity and spicy bitter. Easy drinker.

Bottle. Pale blonde, hazy. Floral aroma with a hint of citrus. Floral citric firm hopbitter flavor. A good body for such a light beer. Very tasty, excellent brew.

Tap at the brewery. Pale golden color, clear, big rocky candid white head. Aroma of pale malts, lots of citrusy hops leading to a fairly intense bitter finish with notes of juniper and spices. Very fresh, light bodied and balsamic, easy to drink and balanced.

Backlog from 1st July. Appearance - golden with generous lacing. Nose - creamy and bready. Something like candied lemon, but with delicate green resin note. Taste - more candied fruit this time. Still bready. Palate - creamy and light to medium bodied, tangy/creamy finish. Overall - ok.

Bouteille: Pale golden, hazy, visible carbonation, big rocky - and quite stable - white head, moderate , quite dry, orangey-yeasty and herbal-hoppy nose; distinctive bitter flavour, mild sweetness detectable, quite light bodied, crisp and a bit fizzy; lingering dryish hoppy and fruity finish. Good. Unusually well hopped Belgian bier...

0.33l bottle. Hazy pale yellow body with a loose but lasting white head. Aroma of hay, lemon zest, coriander and sugar syrup. The taste starts with a sugary sweetness followed by hay, lemon zest and coriander to end with a bit of floral hop bitterness. The finish becomes fruity after the bitterness fades out. Nothing super complicated here, but I like it.

Unclear, yellow colored, medium white frothy head, rather lasting. Spicy and fruity yeasty mix, coriander, some spicy and herbal hops, medium- bitterness, dry finish. Light bodied, soft+ carbonation, watery. Refreshing.
