Barbe d'Or is a top fermented golden blonde ale with a rich, bitter sweet taste. The slightly roasted malts give the beer its blond color and rich flavor. The carefully selected hops are responsible for its bitter and refreshing taste. The Barbe d'Or has an original density is 16 Hl°Plato.

A clear golden beer with a white head. Aroma of herbal pale malt, straw, spices. Taste of spicy pale malt, herbs, belgian yeast, high carbonation.

Süffiger, mild herb-süßer Beginn. Leicht bitter, Geringe Süße, moderate Herbe, eher belanglos. 10/7/8/6/8/6

Bottle at home. Aroma of fruits, malt, hint of yeast, sugar, apples. Flavour is medium sweet, a bit sticky and cloying. Some alcohol. Body is medium. Poor approximation of a Belgian pale strong ale, has a nasty industrial aspect to it. Not good.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Quite good blond coloured brew, with a good fruity bitter taste.

Backlog July 2015. Clear golden body under a big white head. Strong aroma, blackcurrant, butterscotch and mild malt. Taste is both sweet and acidic, has these strange combination of blackcurrant, butterscotch. Not very nice.

J'avais quelques craintes pour cette Barbe d'Or, mais si elle manque globalement de fantaisie et de légèreté, celle-ci est solide et globalement appréciable. Joli visuel en tout cas avec un blond parfaitement limpide, une fine effervescence et une mousse blanche de 5 mm. Le nez est également agréable sur les céréales, une élégante amertume et des écorces d'orange. L'attaque présente une légère acidité, une base maltée relativement présente et douce mais avec un alcool à 7,5 % qui permet de compenser cela. La deuxième bouche voit l'acidité se tasser permettant à l'alcool de renforcer sa présence permettant ainsi un bon caractère. L'arrière bouche, linéaire aurait tout de même mérité plus de contraste. Le final est quant à lui sur un alcool plus sec, mais laissant une bonne sensation en bouche. Sympathique.

0,33 flaske fra min favoritpusher i Dronningens by (Belgisk Bryg), nydt hjemme en smuk aften i juni: klar gylden med godt skum der varer helt til bunden. Dejlig aroma af blomster, gær og citrus. Frugtig og krydret smag med en behagelig, næsten peber-agtig bitterhed og en antydning af hvedemalt. Til den lette side af en tripel, så dette er en tripel for those who think that tripels are to sweet.
