Sample, thanks oh6gdx! Clear amber, small head. Vinous winegum aroma. Mid sweet with medium to full body and rounded mouthfeel. Winegums, and yeast esters, balsamico and brown sugar. Low bitterness. Mild peppery heat. Typical Fantôme style excentric complexity.

Bottled 750ml (vintage 2013?, PET Sessions)
Clear amber colour, tiny off-white head. Earthy sweet aroma. Medium-bodied. Sweet flavour (cane sugar?), alcohol, earthy notes, even Madeira wine like notes. Weird. Good or not? I dunno.

Bottle. Picked up at a place in Bruges a couple of years ago. It was sat on a shelf literally covered in dust. As were a few others that I also couldn’t resist. Opens quite sensibly. Mostly clear deep copper colour. Head completely dissipates. Nose has oxidised Fantome beer. Taste is oxidised Fantome beer. Lost this one. Nice tick, though.

Danke an Erzengel. Süßer, kräutrig erdiger Antrunk. Alkoholische Karamellnoten, schwer, dumpf hopfig. Unausgewogen, erdig bleibend, der Alkohol bleibt lange vorhanden, trocken werdend. 9/7/8/7/8/7

Fresh sourish beginning. Smooth fresh, mild with sweetish funky hints. Nice grainy funky in the aftertaste.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is rich and malty with lots of caramel, candi syrup and brown sugar. Light toasted bread notes with some Belgian esters and light phenolics. Moderate overripe stone fruit and bubble gum with faint red apple and banana. Light clove and faint grass notes. Pours a slightly hazy, copper-orange with a medium large, thick, frothy, white head that recedes quickly to the edges where it lingers for quite some time. Slight, slow gusher. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with light grain notes and toasted bread. Moderately strong caramel with light candi syrup, brown sugar and honey. Light grassy and woody hop notes with a medium light bitterness. Some raisin, red apple, pear, bubble gum and faint banana notes. HInts of clove and coriander. Slightly floral. Some light alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low, but present alcohol warmth. Overall, a unique beer but not particularly enjoyable. Its just too sweet and sugary without much else but some esters that only accentuate the sweetness. The hop character kind of clashes.
