The first real Tripel in Limburg. A strong beer with pure malt, top fermentation and a copper blond character. Be sure to taste the Sint-Gummarus Tripel, our golden yellow pride. Expect a traditional combination of fruity aromas and a soft hoppy aftertaste. Naughty, stimulating and pure.

Stereotypical abbey tripel with loose, off-white, not too stable head and misty ochre blond colour. Aroma of apple and apricot, some peppery spiciness too, and sweetish malts; sweetish onset, fruity and spicy notes, bitterish finish unfortunately ruined by badly hidden alcohol and solvents. What bothered me even more in this, is the relatively thin, near watery mouthfeel, which I do not expect from a tripel.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a hazy light amber with a thin frothy white head. The aroma is big yeast rich citrus hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a mineral earthy alcoholic resin hop bitter palate and a frothy mouthfeel. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Clear deep golden colour, one finger frothy white head, long lasting, good lacing. Aroma malty, grain, banana, yeasty, grapefruit, bit citrus. Taste medium sweet, light bitter. Medium to full body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, in the finish more bitterness, earthy tones, bit alcohol, nice.

Boring and uninspired Belgian tripel. Body is a bit flat and the taste just very average. Sigh.

33cl bottle @ home. Slightly unclear orange color, big rough off-white head. Smell lightly malts, lightly fruity. Taste lightly malts, pretty fruity, a bit sweet-bitter. Nice balance, soft mouthfeel.
