NL/BEL excursion day 8: a small bottle, caged and corked, purchased from the brewery, and drunk in the courtyard of A. de J. ‘Generation Europe’ in Brussels. Aroma: it smells just like vin de table. Appearance: clear Ribena, had dissipates in a jiffy. Palate: light-bodied and tart, rather soft carbonation; finish is pretty dry. Taste: lightly sweet, the sour flavour remains in the background; well-balanced. Pretty strong cherry flavour, a not unpleasant taste of fresh yeast in the background. I really enjoyed this one, I felt it was nutritious and doing me good.

Bottle at M-Café, Leuven. Aroma of tart cherries, red fruits, oak, some funky notes. Flavour is very tart and moderate sour, with a little sweetness as well. Good body and nice balance. Not as stunning as some of the other classic Belgian Krieks, but a fine tasty specimen just the same.

Bottle 0,33 ltr: Hazy red colourede brew with an well balanced sour taste with hints of cherries and apples. One of mine favorite Lambics with cherries.

Glass at In De Verzekering Tegen De Grote Dorst. Aroma is like cherry squash syrup or the haribo cherries. No foam and and coloured. Taste is similar, like haribo cherries. Bit disappointing overall but you can't win them all. Sharp kind of ending, like blood and cherries. could probably give this to kids without complaint. Smeh.

Draught @ SKAAL Sønderborg. Pours clear ruby with small pinkish head. Clear aroma of cherries, with notes of yeast, malt and barrel. Dry, vinous flavour with dusty touches and notes of yeast, cherries and hints of barrel. Dusty and dry aftertaste. A nice kriek. Not BA but tastes as if.

375ml bottle shared at the Spring DC tasting. Poured a clear light ruby color with a small off-white head. Aroma was sweet cherries. Flavor was sweet/tart, kriek cherry skins.

Pretty nice. Artificial sweetener somehow works. Balances pretty well. Light tang. Pours ruby red with decent head. Bottle thanks to Beastiefan.
