The color of a stout (almost black and opague), but with a less dense head. Malt, licorice, nutmeg and pepper in both aroma and flavor. Some sweetness, but that is overpowered by the spicy character of this beer. Reasonable balance, but too spicy for my likes.

Oh boy, more torture. Ugh.
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a snifter and a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange to somewhat off color brown. One finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute.
The smell had some burnt off barnyard funky soured oranges.
The taste was basically the same.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with not much sessionability to me as it’s just too damn leathery and tart and sour.
Overall, I’m hoping my abuse from this brewery is in sight but it’s not.

Bottle bought some place I don’t remember. Etre perhaps... Pours murky yellowish brown with a huge creamy goldenish offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is tiny sour, funky and tiny malty with crispbread, lemon juice, moist soil, barnyard, leather, liquorice root, black pepper corns and hints of moist mouldy basement. Taste is tiny bitter, slightly sour and funky with burnt toast, lemon juice, orange peal, grapefruit rinds, moist soil, codweb, pepper corns, St Johns wort, barnyard, leather, dark grapes, plums, liquorice root and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is soft, dry, tart and medium bodied. finish is bitter, tiny sour, malty and funky with burnt toast, crispbread, hay, moist soil, pepper corns, leather, barnyard and grape skins.
