A timeless classic. We have been brewing Ottakringer Helles ever since the brewery was established. It has been in a constant state of change and has developed its taste with time: The best hops and malt, and mild spring water from our in-house brewery well provide an even balance between a light malt aroma with fruity notes and pleasant bitterness. The straw colour and fresh yeast aroma are trademarks of this beer.

Chilled can on an Austrian Airlines flight to Vienna. Has good bleach foam and clear yellow body, smells of soft sweet cardboard. Flavour is sweet lemon grains. Mouthfeel is full and crisp but lingering booziness detracts. It's nice, easy, clean, but not especially great.

Bottled. Orange aroma with spinach. Grainy flavor with orange and maybe a hint of hops. Some licorice. Bland and disappointing beer. 5 3 4 3 10. Can. Golden color. Maize and butter in the aroma. Some flowery hops in the malty, just a bit buttery flavor. Medium bodied. Not too bad. Tap. Grassy aroma. Malty grassy just a bit oily flavor Mayonaise in the aftertaste.

Thanks to my friends Carmen and Rainer who brought this beer back from their holiday. Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts mild but not washy, modest dry. Shy hoppy background. A bit metallical. Finish well balanced. Average, but better than exspected.

0.5 bottle. Szép dobozban volt, kitöltve világos, tiszta arany szín, hófehér laza, közepesen tartós hab. Illata nagyon kerek, kifinomult, minden a helyén. Gyengén szénsavas, kicsi savanykás mellékíz, de alapjában egy jól komlózott, és finoman malátás szuper ivó sör. Ajánlom! Helles léttére komlós zöldfűszeres illattal, ízzel.

It was in a nice box, filled with a light, pure golden color, snow white loose, medium-lasting head. The aroma is very round, sophisticated, everything in place. Weakly carbonated, slightly sour aftertaste, but basically a well-hoped and finely malted super drinking beer. I recommend! Helles is a hop with a green spicy aroma and taste.
