Grip karpen (carpe diem)!

Pours a clear mahogany colour with a tan head. A rich and complex aroma and similar flavour. Similar to the 2020 (which I recently reviewed) but with more of a fiery alcohol edge, with hints of Armagnac. A beautifully aged bottle. Notes of caramel, dried fruit, prunes and leather. Very mouth-filling with a long, rich aftertaste. A great old ale.

500ml bottle.
Pours a gorgeous mahogany redish brown with a big, frothy beige head. Lovely spicy, golding aroma, with solid caramel, cereal malts. The mouthfeel is thick and luscious, the alcohol is present, but not over bearing, just a tad warming and spicy. The finish is grassy with mote subtle spicing from the hops. One of the best fresh fullers vintage ales ive had.

Brown and slightly murky with thin wispy head. Aroma starts out like a can of tomato puree but it just need some breathing time. After 10 minutes an intense honey note comes through. Slightly bready. Bitterness is light. Very drying finish.

Boxed 500ml bottle; #076928. Drank at home on 14th May 2020, during the virus Lock In. Poured a hazy orange/amber colour, off-white crown. Barley Wine aroma (malty and winy), taste also malty with a sweet wine like base. Sadly there were some 'cobwebs' too, just on the turn and some sourness was beginning to creep into the flavours.

Bottle. dark amber color. Biscuity malt and ripe fruits in the floral aroma. Malty sweet, floral hoppy flavor. Ripe fruit. Full bodied. Well balanced. Not too alcoholic. Tasty strong ale, with soft spicy notes (nutmeg). Best vintage for several years.
