Thx to JefV for this bottle. Bronish-reddish color and a nice off-white head. Malty, roasty, caramel and some chocolate. Smooth.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Butter, malt and toffee in the aroma. Malty sweet, caramelly flavor. Low on carbon. Hints of licorice. Almost full bodied. Laurel. Pleasant brew.

Pour is a ugly river water brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a decent brown sugar and molasses. Flavor is again a decent black molasses with some sugar and graham cracker. There was a ton of junk that came out of the bottle so this may be a bit old but it does have a nice dubbel malty and dark fruit sugary flavor. Probably another year with this and it will start to turn to a vinegar bomb.

Bottle shared. Pours cloudy brown with a small off white head. Aroma of overripe dark fruits, raisins, caramel and malt. Flavour is over moderate sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle @ home. Slightly unclear red to red-brown color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, sweetness, brown malts, some dark candy sugar and a distant hop bitter in the background. Ok body, medium carbonation.

Dark medium-strength top fermented Belgian, so in that respect a dubbel, with light beige head and bronze colour. Malty, nutty, dates, pear, clear and honest, bit straightforward, with slight toasted bitterness in the finish. Not bad for a first product.

Bottle from river city cellars on 05/05/2011. Slightly hazy amber body with a small frothy white head. Sweet fruit and caramel aroma. Dry fruit and caramel flavor with some spice. Medium body with moderately high carbonation.
