A 100 percent malted lager, “Leinie’s Classic” features Leinenkugel’s own unique blend of two-row and six-row malts and four varieties of hops. A blend of Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts offer a complex flavor, with four different hops (Cluster, Cascade, Mt. Hood, and Hallertau) to balance the malts. Acknowledging their German heritage, Leinenkugel’s brewed Classic Amber in Reinheitsgebot tradition, where the only ingredients permitted are malts, water, hops, and yeast.

29/VII/2012 - 12Fl. Oz. bottle @ Crystal's place - bottled: VI/23/12 - (2012-779) Thanks to Caytinator for sharing the bottle!
Clear orange beer, small irregular off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: offensive, something's off, maltys, grains, cookie dough and stable. MF: ok carbon, some caramel, bit metallic, hay, little bitter. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, some citrus, grassy touch, pretty boring in all.

Bitterness is the first thing that came to mind on first taste. Weak head dissipates quickly, sharp aftertaste. Wouldn’t want to have too many of these....

Bottle given to me by a coworker. Pours clear light amber color with tan head. Cereal malt that’s kind of skunky. Not looking toward to tasting it. Moderately sweet caramel flavor with a bad aftertaste. Medium body with average carbonation. Luckily I didn’t have to pay for this one.

Pours deep gold into a shaker. Off-white head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Sour hay and caramel aromas. Sweet toffee upfront turning to a dry sweet caramel finish.

Crisp copper coloured body with a one centimetre tall white head. Aroma of malt, cardboard, mild stale hops and a grassy, hay-like note. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic and mild malty flavour with some cardboard, sweetness and light fruits at the end. Aftertaste shows the funky cardboard note, some stale malt and a grassy finish with no complexity. Overall, a pretty poor beer, as expected, nothing really worth sampling. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from La Bodega in Anchorage, Alaska on 23-June-2011 sampled at home in Washington on 26-July-2011.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden with a bubbly white head that laces the edges of the glass. Aroma is fresh malts with a sweet harvest hint. Taste is very clean and crisp, smooth finish.
