Heel fijn bier.

Almost clear amber, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, slightly soft but still with reasonable fine carbonation. Fluffy malts, a little cream and a little caramel. Mellow ripe orange and marmalade. Smooth and semi dry finish. Mellow and smooth.

Aroma is fruitig zoet.

Bottle @ tasting shared by TomHendriksen. Beautiful dark red to red-brown color, average to medium sized beige head. Aroma is sweet overripe dark fruits. Don't get much more but the beer might be too cold. Flavor is malts, dark fruit, quite sweet, apple, apple peel, light alcohol burn, boozy. Light bitter alcohol / booze notes, though overall mostly sweet. Imo: too heavy / boozy, too much (green) apple notes.

Apparently the newest one in this series of Watt and Volt beers by Stadsbrouwerij Eindhoven, thanks to Craftmember for sharing at Gents Bierfestival. Moussy but quickly opening, egg-white head over a more or less clear, copper-hued 'metallic' old gold robe. Aroma of honey liqueur, peaches in 'jenever', brandy, sweetbread, white pepper, marmalade, almond, orange peel. Sweet onset, marmalade and peach, softly carbonated, honeyish residual sugariness accompanying a caramelly malt base to a boozy, amaretto-tinged, warming finish, with only a dash of peppery hop bitterness - but not the excessive hoppiness I expect from what is apparently intended as an American style barleywine. More than decent sipper for sure, but lacking a bit in depth and maturity for this style - and frankly I would not have minded the excessive New World hoppiness implicitly promised on the label.
