Bottle from Berghoeve. Aroma is chalky and roasty with dark chocolate, liquorice, roasted malt, and ash. Flavour is fairly roasty and bitter with a mild sweetness. Body is above medium. Could be more full-bodied. Nicely roasty and chalky with dark chocolate and liquorice.

Bottle shared. Black with light brown head. Marzipan, lots of blackberries, vanilla, coffee, licorice, a touch of smoke, lots of fresh fruits. Over medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied. Quite nice.

Bottle from Beerdome. Black with a brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, coffee and light licorice. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish with a little warming alcohol. Oily and soft. 170321

Leuk om de basis eens te proeven. Erg bitter. Dat maakt dat de BA doorgaans niet zo goed werkt als die dat niet compenseert.

De reguliere versie maar eens proberen. Ook prima bier.

Bottle. Black, opague. Roast, licorice in the aroma. Full bodied, low on carbon. malty sweet flavor with salted licorice. Other flavor and aromas play second violin. Very nice beer indeed, maybe a bit onedimensional. Barrel aging should provide the extra depth.

Laurier, chocola, randje booze. Vrij bitter, zeker ivm de pastry stouts van tegenwoordig.
