The main ingredients of our Vanderghinste Roodbruin are malted barley, wheat, hops, water, and caramelized malts. These are used to brew a top-fermented beer.
Blending this beer with lambic beer aged in oak barrels for 18 months, results in this specific West Flanders Red-brown beer. Its typical flavour is characterized by a well-balanced, hardly noticeable sourness. This first flavour impression is soon followed by a second pleasant discovery: a slight bitterness followed by a hint of sweetness.

Bottle 0,25ltr: Dark brown sour brew, with some fruity taste and well balanced bitter finish, and the sour is also well balanced.

Poured from 25cL bottle (bb 10-11-23; 5.5% ABV). Hazy copper brown with small light beige head. Light raisin and dark fruit, mild vinegar, very feint metallic note. Okay.

0,25 bottle.

Nice traditional label and bottle. Nice burgundy-reddish brown beer with a little foam. The aroma is grapey, cognac-like, and even a little alcoholic. Sour, red wine-like sipping sensation. Not too full-bodied, sharply carbonated. There are also dried fruit flavors. This style will not be my favorite (although you never know), but I can imagine it with more serious meals.
