Brugse Zot Dubbel is a dark brown beer, inclinging towards ruby red. It is brewed with six special varieties of malt, which give the beer a rich and distrinctive aroma. One can discover the scent of honey, almonds, chocolate and even brown sugar.
By using the Czech Saaz hop from Zatec, the beer has a complex pallet of roasted malts and a distrinctive flavour. Brugse Zot Dubbel is known to leave a warm glow in the mouth with a bitter and hoppy finish leanding towards liquorice and even coffee roast.

Bottle at home. It pours clear reddish - brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is sweet, raisin, sultana, sticky, fruit cake, brown sugar, cake, banana bread, varnish and earth. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, moving to more sweetness, dried fruits, candi sugar, brown bread, over ripe banana, toothy, varnish, cola, touch of booze, cardboard, burnt toast and some metallic twang with a cola finish. Medium body and high, foamy carbonation. Not a huge amount to it, but drinkable enough.

Hazy reddish beer, off-white head. Malty fruit aroma. taste is malt, dried fruit, a little toffee, apple. Rich feel to it. Possibly a little cinnamon or something. Very pleasant.

From the bottle. Auburn with a tall, foamy head that lingers. Aroma is yeasty, full of roasted malts, bananas and spice. Taste is bittersweet, a touch metallic, but with softening notes of caramel at the finish. Body is to the light side of medium. Good.

Bottle, Legacy. Amber-brown colour with some haze. Big head, though it is definitely a bit weak. The aroma has dried fig, bitter chocolate, some stone fruit, and some toffee. On the palate, it’s a little bit fizzy but still brings those dark fruit esters, a hit of alcohol in the finish, flashes of yeast and chocolate. I mean this isn’t even all that special by Belgian standards and it utterly slaughters every dubbel made locally.
