A perfectly balanced ale, characterised by its fresh hoppy taste and a clean bitter finish. The Official Beer of England Rugby, Greene King IPA is now the fastest selling cask ale in the UK.

Abv reduced from 3.6% to 3.4% in September 2023 “to help the company combat rising costs while maintaining the same crisp flavor of the beer”.

Pours a clear amber colour with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is light fruit and malt and a similar taste. A bit watery, not a lot of depth of flavour and not much bitterness.

0,5 bottle.A beautiful, mahogany-colored beer in a puritanical "white" bottle, with a normal-sized creamy head when poured. A green-grassy hoppy, slightly malty, sweet aroma-mixture, mixed with a "smooth" beer aroma. This is normal for bitters, but it doesn't have the smell of an IPA. It's watery, sour, and has a very bad, very disturbing aftertaste, which is impossible to be from the hops. The hopping is also quite medicinal, of course not IPA hopping, there's not much of it in it. This is of course not an IPA, and it's not categorized here. However, it has a detergent, metallic, stale, very bad aftertaste, which is why I can't give it more points. I don't want to. It's not a good beer, not even for a light beer.
***
