Bottle at home. Very good amber color and good head. The aroma is okay, but in the taste the clove is much too predominant. A sweet beer, but less clove will make it better.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Jumo Wijk Bij Duurstede. Hazy yellow with some yeast specks and a white head. Heavy cloves aroma with some malts and some yeast. Taste is medium bitter fitting for a tripel. The too present cloves spoil the party a bit for me as it is about the only thing you taste after a while.

Fles gedeeld door Roelzie1986. Het is een lekkere licht troebele tripel. De smaak van kruidnagel geeft het een lekkere smaak.

Tripel effectively spiced with cloves - so the cloves ’warning’ on the label does not simply refer to clove-like phenols produced by certain Belgian and German yeast strains. Thick, sticky, frothy, snow white head over a misty golden blonde beer with peachy hue. Aroma strongly dominated by cloves, way too much so for my taste, with an obviously very spicy but even somewhat medicinal effect; further hints of banana, caramel, gin, hay, dried apricot. Sweetish onset, pear, honeyish accent, soft carbo, smooth mouthfeel, caramelly malts, light yeastiness, and as expected, a strong domination of spicy, medicinal, resiny, bittersweet cloves overpowering the soft, earthy hop bitterishness in the end. Too much of a one-trick pony for me but at least this is an original take on the Belgian tripel style and it does keep me interested in the rest of this range.

Bottle from Biernavigatie. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is big yeast, malt, caramel and some citrus fruit. The flavour is medium bitter with a light sweet malt, fruit palate with a little alcohol. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. I didn’t dislike this beer. It was quite tasty and I don’t get the relatively low ratings.

Standard Belgian style tripe. Body is thin and makes the beer not very taste, a bit boring actually.
