[9/26/15] Draught sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2015 in Bodegraven. Muddy black with a brown-beige head. Aroma of chocolate with blueberries. Tart flavor with roast, blueberries, chocolate. Medium-bodied.

Tap at Borefts ’15. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of blueberry, roast, dark chocolate and caramel. Flavour is over moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Sampled @ Borefts 2015 day 2. Hazy dark brown color, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, dark malts, lots of blueberries, lightly bitter. Weird combination but nicely done.

Keg at de molen american beer bar. Black opaque pour with a lasting halo of mid tan head. Aroma is sweet blueberry poptart, tart berry, hint of choc. Flavour is composed of light tart dark choc, full on sweet blueberry, light mineral. A bit fake. Palate is semi sweet and spritzy carbonation, dry in the finish. Maybe a little artificial.

At Borefts, from tap at the iconic windmill next to the brewery. Loose, light beige head over a very dark burgundy, almost blackish beer. Lively and spicy aroma of, indeed, lots of dried blueberry, coffee grounds, peanut, raisins; dry taste, berry tartness throughout the palate but blending in well with the soft, creamy, caramelly maltiness underneath, slight roasted bitter edge in the end with some herbal hops, not too strong so as not to interfere too much with the fruits. I had fruit stouts and dito porters before and usually the fruit component drowns in the deep, dark maltiness of the basic beer, but here balance has been achieved very well.

Thx! for sharing. Sampled draft @ Borefts 2015. Day 2. Black, lacing mocha head. Nose is interesting mix of lavender, spices, air refresher, blueberry, milk chocolate & some blueberry pie. Taste is sweet milk chocolate, lactose, herbs, lavender, blueberry pie, sugar,… Milk chocolate body. Very interesting & delicious. Great work.

Keg in the Windmill during BBF 7, Bodegraven, 25/09/15. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is big on blueberries, light chocolate notes, red berry notes, sweet, light perfume. Taste comprises rich blueberry pie, cocoa powder, light spice, toffee. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent stout, the blueberries shine through without taking over completely.

Trübes dunkel orange braunes Bier mit einer geringen beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr schokoladig, Vanille, süß. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig, Schokolade, Vanille, dunkle Früchte.

Süßlich trockenes Aroma von Blaubeere, überraschend, leider zu trocken. Weich röstig, minimal herb. 9/11/9/9//9
