Deep brown pour, off white head. Huge aroma of sweet yeasty bread. Dark Candi sugar and loads of sweet malts. It’s like drinking. A beer cake. So many dark fruit flavors. Picture dark sweet savoury fruit beer cake. Awesome!

Bottle from Beerwulf. Aroma is sweet brown malt with spicy yeast, caramel, further spicy notes, dark bread, dried fruits, raisins, dates, some brown sugar, some more fruits show up in the finish. Flavour is sweet with a mild bitterness. Body is above medium. Complex and wholesome, mostly dried fruits and caramel malts with spicy yeast. Solid Belgian Strong Dark Ale.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a very deep amber colour with a thin off-white head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel and brown bread. Taste has a lot more of the dry dark fruits, more caramel and brown bread and some molasses and marzipan on a rich but also sticky sweet finish. Warming alcohol coming through. Medium to full body with average carbonation. Not really my type of beer if I’m honest it’s too cloyingly sweet for me personally.

Reddish brown. Aroma is dried fruit figs dates and raisin some spices like cloves deep malty caramel. Complex. Taste is heavy malty caramel and dried fruit with light sour grape/raisin and some bitter base. Some abv is felt. Long finish of basically dried fruit. Quite a banger.

bottiglia 33 cl, bel cappello di schiuma beige fine persistente, color ambrato carico velato, al naso malto tostato zucchero di canna spezie frutti rossi Marsala acido, in bocca malto caramello frutta matura solvente, acidula, corpo leggero, carbonazione moderata, alcool non bilanciato, amaro accentuato. Mah…. c’è qualcosa che non va. Difettosa? Non all’altezza di Abbaye des Rocs. c. Cantina della Birra 26.02.2021
