A rich reddy amber body with a dense beige head. The nose is an engaging mix of big, fresh resinous hops, brown sugar and malt. A really tasty malt forward imperial ipa. Rich caramel, chewy biscuit malt and cereal form the backbone. Grapefruit, orange and pine resin lead an impressive hop profile. Coats the mouth with sweetness. A dense, slick body.

From the sterk, Amsterdam. You smell a side of pine tree and the trend is to make IPA with a strong side of pine tree, this one is well done, 29.06.19, at home, Epalinges.

Canned of course. Poured dark, some earthiness and some caramel. The hops were pretty mild. good.

really nice amber color, thick creamy head, wicked lacing on my glass....looks like glue! Wow, the hops aroma is really nice, and floral. The flavour is huge on the hops, and the malt balances it out really nicely. Very well balanced beer. Wicked stuff, and the 8.7% is nowhere to be found, this is quality beer! I would say this is a DIPA.

Can from Speciaalbierpakket, not as fresh as I'd like. Aroma is firm biscuity malt, caramel, resinous hops, grapefruit, ripe-ish fruits, orange, and plenty of pine resin. Flavour is medium sweet and above moderate bitter. Body is above medium, bit sticky. Very resinous and malty with definitely some fruity hops as well, I'd like to try this again fresh from draft at the brewery one day.

355ml can from Dunell's in Jersey, pours dark amber with a white head. Aromas & tastes of grapefruit, orange peel, lemon, pine, earth, caramel, hints of spice, hops & malt. Medium body. Moderate bitter finish. Outstanding

Notes from 1/27/2009 Growler fill from Whole Foods. Poured into my Ommegang Anniversary glass. Awesome clarity. Lightly steeped tea/dark amber color, coating lace that eventually thins out into even wavelengths. Resin & pine dominate the scent. A whole level fumier then anything I've had in the can. Alcohol & sticky malts, turning towards bitter tangerine at the end of the whiff. Plenty of resin & grapefruit dominating the taste. A sharp sighting of malt right through the middle, finishing off with a doughy & dusty patting of bread crust & a linger of juicy rind. Definitely drier & more reminiscent of an imperial amber/red as the consensus here believes. Though not to the point the canned variety is. That version would probably score a little duller in regards to intensity. A sure stronger vibrancy to this serving. A growler wasn't too bad. No vertigo that a plate of leftovers can't cure. $10 later & Mondays still suck, but who'd remember? :P

Can from Beer Republic. Hazy amber, big, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of raisin, red grape, ripe blood orange, hard caramel, peach, green tea, pink grapefruit peel, vague aniseed. Taste has sweet peach, raisin & red grape in a caramelly, biscuity malt body surrounded by herbal & spicy notes, a tad sugary. Herbal hoppy finish offering pink grapefruit, citrus peel and raisin; alcohol remains well-hidden. Medium body, slick-sticky texture, average carbonation. Pretty decent but I expected more (considering the overall score).

Last one in this style was aug/2019, malty base, caramel, candy sugar, some resinous aroma, medium body, smooth, malty flavours are dominant, sweetish, decent bitter flavours, it’s okay
