Sock Knocker pours golden orange, with a hoppy, citrus flavor that lingers well into the finish. Amarillo, Centennial, Columbus and Simcoe hops unite to create an immensely floral, botanical nose and a veritable explosion of citrus and pine on the palate. With an even more obscene hop overload than Coronado’s infamous Idiot IPA, Sock Knocker is an India Pale Ale truly deserving of its imperial crown.

bottle at Komachi. Glowing golden-orange with lace. Biscuit and orange in the nose, a bit of candy. Very malty, sweet flavor, somewhat like a maibock actually, crackers and biscuits, sweet orange and peach. A bit German. A bit of resin. Almost syrupy but not quite.

Golden color with a white head, medium duration and nice lacework. Aroma has citrus notes, resins and some herbal notes. Flavor with good bitterness, medium maltiness and fruity notes. Some creamy and smoothy sensation on palate in the final.

Clear orange beer, big irregular yellowish head, little stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very fruity, little yeasty, resinous, some summer fruits, malty. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet malty start, very fruity, bitter hops, sweet ripe fruits, caramel, nice bitterness. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, very fruity, bit resinous, malty, grassy, pretty sweet, sugary touch.

Golden color with fine perlage. Strong aroma of piney hops and cereals. Different from most other IIPAs for being much drier; the mouthfeel is soft; the pale malt is as usual a good choice, with bready and biscuity notes; the hopping squeezes all the qualities out of those hops. Highly drinkable.

12 ounce bottle. Amber orange with a moderate foamy white head and clinging lace. Perfumy toasted malt nose with lots of pine needle hops. Flavor is malty sweet with caramel and toasted nuts. Bittersweet on the tongue with a subtle alcohol burn. Pine hops are prominent in the finish. A nice IIPA.

On tap at Spacebar pours a dark gold nearing on amber with rocky, white head. Nose has quite a bit of fruit, both citrus and tropical, orange, guava, mango, pine, honey, some malt, some honey comb. Flavor is a mix of sticky malt and sticky hop, malt and honey, pine and soap, some dried orange, some herb, a little tropical fruit, dried pineapple. Full, sticky finish.

Sample at the "Ten Beers You Haven’t Had" Beer Tasting & Movie at Studio 35 during CCBW on 05/03/2015. Clear orange-gold color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit, hops and grainy malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of tropical fruits, herbal hops and roast malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
